Já depois de notificada e oficialmente afastada para continuidade do processo de impeachment, Dilma Rousseff fez o último discurso no Palácio do Planalto.
Segundo a presidente eleita pelo voto direto, o impeachment culminou o esquema que visava roubar seu governo.
Dilma falou qeu não existe injustiça maior que condenar um inocente e esse era seu caso: “Posso ter cometido erros, mas não cometi crimes, nunca aceitei chantagem”.
Ainda durante sua fala, ela disse que “Atos que pratiquei foram legais e corretos, atos de governo. Atos idênticos foram feitos por presidentes antes de mim”. Sobre o o processo de impeachment, que ela classificou como fraudulento ela foi taxativa: “Golpe não visa apenas me destituir, ao destituir o meu governo querem impedir o programa escolhido pelos votos majoritários. Ameaça levar de roldão não só a democracia, mas também as conquistas sociais da população nas ultimas décadas”.
Ela relembrou sua participação na garantia da democracia e a tortura sofrida nos porões da ditadura.
