Após a cobrança feita pelo vereador Renato Martins (PSB) e ratificada publicamente pelo presidente municipal do PSB, na Capital, Ronaldo Barbosa, os vereadores de João Pessoa decidiram aprovar, na sessão desta quarta-feira (26), a concessão da Medalha Cidade de João Pessoa ao governador da Paraíba, Ricardo Coutinho (PSB) em reconhecimento aos serviços prestados pelo Governo do Estado na Capital.
A proposta foi apresentada há cerca de duas semanas pelo vereador Djanilson da Fonseca, que chegou a justificar que o socialista teria sido o melhor gestor dos 430 anos da capital paraibana.
Renato reforçou que no ano passado estava ao lado do Trevo das Mangabeiras, citando que a prefeitura pretendia construir um Terminal de Integração no local em que a obra foi erguida. “Eu sempre estive ao lado do Trevo e sugiro que a Medalha seja entregue no dia 31, durante a inauguração da obra”, detacou.
Durante a votação, alguns vereadores emitiram posicionamentos sobre a comenda. O vereador Benilton, por exemplo disse que não entendia o fato de o vereador Renato Martins querer polemizar a concessão da Medalha trazendo para o debate o lado político.
“Não entendo que polêmica Renato quer fazer se nas últimas eleições ele estava ao meu lado na campanha por Ricardo Coutinho e Lucélio Cartaxo. Quer colocar um fato que não tem nada a ver com a homenagem para fazer um embate político antecipado? Tenho certeza que essa não é a orientação do governador. Quer colocar uma questão pessoal porque não foi chamado para gerir a Emlur. Não vamos aceitar essa cizânia que vossa excelência quer criar”, rebateu Benilton Lucena (PT).
Já o vereador Bruno Farias, destacou o merecimento do governador Ricardo Coutinho. “Estamos nos referindo à trajetória política mais vitoriosa já nascida na capital paraibana. Ele tem um legado merecedor do aplauso de todos nós. Mesmo em campos políticos opostos, não sou doido de não reconhecer seus feitos”, citou Bruno Farias.
Depois dos discursos, a homenagem foi aprovada de maneira unânime. O vereador Ubiratan Pereira (PT) havia deixado o plenário minutos antes, por causa de um problema pessoal, mas já havia se manifestado favorável a comenda, reconhecendo as ações do Governo em prol da Capital, mesmo não tendo votado no socialista nas eleições passadas. Apesar de ter torcido pelo rompimento político entre PSB e PSDB nas eleições de 2014, a vereadora Raíssa Lacerda, do PSD, também fez questão de respaldar a propositora.
